EFL: The Wrong Hill

Birmingham City confirmed on Wednesday that the EFL have notified the club of its intention to appeal the decision of the Independent Disciplinary Commission. The club had all charges dismissed by the Commission in a judgement that was confirmed on March 6.

Derby County escaped sanction under the EFL Profit and Sustainability Rules by selling their stadium to another company owned by their owner Mel Morris. The sale and subsequent long term lease back ensured that the Rams made a profit last season and did not fall foul of the rules in the same way Blues did. The EFL have confirmed in a statement today that the Profit and Sustainability Disciplinary Commission hearing will be delayed for about a month. The commission had been scheduled to meet this week but due to a member of the Disciplinary Commission being “conflicted” they have had to withdraw.
