Biography
Wang Yaohui – aka the elusive Mr King – does not hold any position within BCFC or Birmingham Sports Holdings. However, in 2022 it was revealed he is the beneficial owner of Dragon Villa Ltd, a shareholder in BSH.
Wang was born in June 1966 in Qiqihar in the north-eastern Chinese province of Heilongjiang. He started out in the automobile trade as a young man, and in the 1990s moved to Dalian to serve as deputy general manager of the sales department of China Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Corporation.
He then moved to Beijing where he learned more about business before founding Zhonghui Guohua Industrial Co Ltd in 1999. In 2001 he founded Zhongtian Hi-Tech Special Vehicle Co Ltd and in 2003 he founded Zhong’an Security Co Ltd.
However, it was with his company Blue Harbor which developed the SOLANA mall in Beijing that Wang found notoriety. Agricultural Bank of China vice-president Yang Kun approved a RMB3Bn loan to Blue Harbor having taken bribes from Wang.
Yang Kun was imprisoned for life in 2015 for the crime; Wang disappeared off the radar.
Wang is known to be connected to businesses in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Zambia, Cyprus, Cambodia and the UK, as well as homes in Singapore, California and London.
Wang is also known to have as many as nine passports, including ones from China, Singapore, Cambodia, St Kitts and Cyprus. His Cambodian passport is a diplomatic one in the name of Wan Sokha.
