Birmingham City crashed out of the FA Cup with barely a whimper on Saturday, losing 1-0 to League One side Plymouth Argyle. The final result might say that the Pilgrims won after extra time but the sad fact is a 4-0 scoreline in 90 minutes would not have flattered them. Yet the worst part of it all seems to be the number of Blues fans (including myself) who were just resigned to defeat and numb to the pain.
The last couple of weeks have seen some ups and downs as a Blues fan. The lack of business done by Blues in the transfer window was a cause of outrage for many on social media, while on the other hand Lee Camp’s recent penalty save heroics have been the source for many memes and positive vibes. Is football really this hyperbolic?
Birmingham City slipped to their ninth league defeat of the season against Brentford on Wednesday night. A 2-0 defeat ensured that Blues hover just above the relegation zone and remain as the division’s lowest scorers.
