BCFC: The Broken Axis

A while back on this website I termed three members of the “inner circle” the axis of incompetence for the way I felt that they were running affairs at the club. I’m given to understand that the axis has lost two members with both Darren Dein and Jeff Vetere losing their influence on the club.

With less than a week left in the transfer window, it’s safe to say the mood around Birmingham City fans online is antsy. Blues are yet to bring in a player having released four, sold one and loaned out one and with the team still languishing in the relegation places it’s easy to understand why people are worried.

Another defeat for Birmingham City against Queens Park Rangers saw Steve Cotterill’s side slip to bottom of the table having won just 16 points from 22 games. It prompted another outpouring of vitriol and anger towards the management of the club on the internet – yet despite continued rumours otherwise, Cotterill remains in his post.

Rumours have intensified on Social Media and Blues message boards that Steve Cotterill is close to receiving his marching orders. The Cheltenham-born manager has only been in charge for ten games but with Blues only having won twice and only scoring three goals the knives are out already.

BCFC: The Rollercoaster Continues

Harry Redknapp was sensationally sacked from Birmingham City on Saturday night as Blues slipped to a sixth consecutive defeat. His departure means that the club now seek their fourth different manager within 12 months.
