Biography
Maxi Lopez is a former Argentine footballer who holds both Argentine and Italian passports. During his playing days he was nicknamed El Rubio (The Blonde) and La Gallina del Oro (The Golden Hen). He predominately played as a forward.
Lopez played for various clubs in Europe during a 20 year playing career including Barcelona, Milan and Torino. He retired from playing at the end of the 2020-2021 season having made 475 league appearances and scoring 115 league goals
Lopez was married to Argentine model Wanda Nara, and was involved in an acrimonious split from her when it ermerged she was having an affair with his former teammate and compatriot Mauro Icardi. Lopez is known to be close friends with Lionel Messi.
